Stockholm+50: Only One Earth
Next year will mark 50 years since the first United Nations Conference on the Human Environment – the 1972 Stockholm Conference – that led to the creation of the United Nations Environment Programme and that designated 5 June as World Environment Day.
The Bahá'í International Community has released at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in November 2021 a working draft of its statement "One Homeland, One Habitation" which is to be finalised for the Stockholm+50 Conference next year. This interim draft is being circulated for feedback. The BIC is particularly interested in how the statement is understood and received by those deeply grounded in environmental discourses and in policy-making spaces.
