The Cooperation Economy
ebbf Learning Experience with
Arthur Dahl
30 April 2024
In preparation for the Ethical Business Building the Future (ebbf) Annual Conference where he will be speaking in May, IEF president Arthur Dahl contributed to a learning experience (questions and answers) on THE COOPERATION ECONOMY on 30 April 2024.
RATIONALE:
To elevate business and the economy, we must question their basic assumptions. From a systems perspective, cooperation and reciprocity are more productive than competition. Restricting access to innovation through intellectual property is also counter-productive to general well-being.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1. Are we really selfish, aggressive and competitive by nature?
2. What difference would it make if companies cooperated rather than competed?
3. Should we own knowledge and information for profit, or distribute it for general well-being?
