Unit 2: 8-14 Sep

Thank you for the additional resources to this Unit.  The Brief History of Climate Change was fascinating, and especially the fact that the reality of climate change caused by fossil fuels was discovered and demonstrated by a woman who of course never received credit for her scientific investigation.  At least now she is being recognized.

Also the long video with Dr. Hayhoe is well worth watching.  She is superb at presenting facts, actions, and hope.

The link below is about Johnston Island which is a very small atoll about 1,000 miles Southwest of Hawai'i.  It was a U.S military outpost related to nuclear tests, chemical disposal etc.  I landed there in 1969 for fueling on my way to the Marshall Islands.  To say the least it was a strange place, with gas masks hanging from the ceiling in the waiting room.  Now it has been given back to the birds, where over 1 million now call home.
