Discourse on climate change and values

The International Environment Forum has a dedicated page with a wealth of resources on discourse including BIC statements, webinars, papers, blogs, book reviews, and preparations for discourse: https://iefworld.org/Discourse . Indeed taking part in public discourse is one of the main purpose of IEF. This course on Climate Change has also as one of the objectives to contribute to strengthen our capacity to engage in discourse on Climate Change and values. As we can see in Unit 3 and 4 knowledge and understanding of sciences behind climate change is essential, but it is not enough as very often decision and implementation do not follow a science based policy. Science is telling us clearly what is the problem and what needs to be done and how. What is often lacking however is the will and capacity to act individually and collectively, and the capacity to address the root causes of problems which are spiritual or ethical rather than physical or material. One of the spiritual root cause is the lack of justice and unity with the less responsible being the most affected. What is the experience among participants in this course in taking part in this kind of conversation, at the individual, collectives or institutional level ?
